In Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, as the Soviet Union altered the space-time continuum. They unknowingly created a powerful faction out of the country of Japan, the Empire of The Rising Sun. This new empire is very stringent in military dicipline and has possibly the latest in war technology that will help them crush the Soviet Union and even conquer the west as well.

Red Alert 3

The Empire was created unknowingly by Premier Anatoly Cherdenko's time traveling methods in hopes to bring the Western Allies into defeat. The Empire is predetermined to conquer the entire world, they intend to not only defeat the Soviet Union, but the Western Allies as well. With their superior technology and stringent military dicipline, they began to occupy regions in the Soviet Union to the north and even parts of siberia as well. But the Empire's forces would soon run into trouble as the Empire met the strong and determined Soviet forces at Lenningrad. The Empire was oon pushed out of the Union, however the Empire prevailed in the pacific as the Western Allies delcared war on the Empire as the Allies tried to move on Pearl Harbor and even the open Pacific Ocean as the Allies tried to invade Japan, then the Empire began their own campaign for Europe as both the Allies and the Soviets joined forcesin hopes to defeat the Empire, they were defeated at both Gibraltar and the North Sea (as the 2 factions brought down the Empire's mighty Black Tortoise island fortress). Then, the Empire called for an emergency meeting with the important Imperial generals at Tokyo, but this was discovered by the Alies, who (without the aid of the Soviets) defeated the empire at the capital. Then, as the Allies went on to defeat the Soviets, realizing that the Empire's "devine destiny" did not come to be, the Empire's leader Emperor Yoshiro had committed Seppuku (ritual suicide).

Uprising

The Empire's defeat by the Western Allies and their leader suicide is a devastaing double blow. Then as the Allies were declared the victor over the 2 factions they have defeated. The post-war occupations in both Russia and Japan have begun. Commander Giles Price (who is now the general) has appointed Yoshiro's son, Crown Prince Tatsu has the leader of Japan. However, the former imperial commanders who still swear loyalty to the Empire is beginning to rise up against the Allies, then, but as the Allies were fighting the commanders, the "Soviet Underground" was making their un in the northern regions of Japan (including Yoshiro's tomb), Tatsu has sent his forces to defeat the Soviets and beat them back to their country, then as the former commanders were defeated, Tatsu's cometition was wiped out, and was crowned Emperor and is even making the attempt to defeat the Allies and drive them out fo Japan.
