Real History
The Soviet Union (USSR) was birthed in 1918 when the Boshevik Communist party overthrew the Romanov family of Tsars. At First, it was not a synonymous threat to the world, in fact during World War 2, the Union was fighting Nazi Germany as the country was pushing into their Motherland, then with technological innovations and good combat skills, the Soviet Union beaten back the Germans and even moved into Berlin in mid 1945. But, shortly after WW2, tensions were building between Europe and the Soviet Union, as a matter of fact after they heard of NATO, they responded immediately by forming the Warsaw Pact. This has started the Cold War, but did not become known to the world until the Korean war, when the Russians were supplying the north with weapons to try to invade the south, but was beaten by the United States. Then in 1962, the United States placed Nuclear missile silos in the country of Turkey, the Soviets responded immediately by doing the same in Cuba, thus starting the Cuban Missile Crisis, then the 2 leaders (Kennedy and Krushnev) came to an agreement and dismantled their missiles. Then, the Soviet Union ran into trouble in 1989, when the Berlin Wall came down, in 4 years the Soviet union was no more.
Red Alert
What changes throughout the Red Alert Series is the leader of the country. In the first game it was Josef Stalin, and after Professor Albert Einstein erased Adolf Hitler from time before he rose to power in Germany, Stalin moved his forces into Europe in hopes to take over the world, though he would score some vicotries in Europe, but would soon be beaten back by a stronger Allied forces he would be defeated by the Allies.
Red Alert 2
As the Soviet Union was occupied by the Western Allies, the last relative of the lost family of Tsars Premier Alexander Romanov was appointed to run the country by American President Michael Dugan. But what Dugan does not realize that Romanov has no intention to be the Presiednt's puppet, as he launches an all-out attack on the United States, the Soviets were successful at taking the country, but was soon reclaimed by the Allies, and the Soviets tried to level the playing field on fdifferent parts of the wrld, but failed, they would soon be defeated by the Allies at Moscow, which resulted in Romanov's imprisonment.
Yuri's Revenge
Several months had passed since the Soviet Union was defeated by the Allies at Moscow, as the rest of the Soviet forces are still feeling the brunt of the defeat, they heard of Romanov's adivsor, Yuri putting his own plan to dominate the world into action, and even heard of the Allies' time machine, as they tried to capure it, they were met with heavy resistence which resulted to their defeat. Then as the Allies were prevailing in their mission to defeat Yuri, they have agreed to sign a treaty to join the Allies in their fight against Yuri, and with the Allies' assistance, the Soviets defeated Yuri, and now more loyal to the Allies.
Red Alert 3
As the Soviet Union is beginning to dissolve, Anatoly Cherdenko and General Nicolai Krukov have hatched Cherdenko's plan to use his top secret time machine in hopes to defeat the Western Allies once and for all, they have traveled back into time to erase Professor Albert Einstein before he could help the Allies, thus making the Sviet Union the more powerful faction, but their time taveling methods had unintended consequences, they created the Empire of The Rising Sun, that is now moving on their own plan to dominate the world starting with the Soviet Union. Though, the Soviets did underestimated the superior technology and abilities of the Empire, but soon bouned back and reclaimed the Imperial occupations in their mother land. As they made their move on Europe, they scored some victories, but were soon beaten back by the Allies.Then Cherdenko (who is now Premier) has ordered a cease fire and joined the Allies to try to defeat the Empire, they did help the Allies as the Empire was trying to conquer Europe themselves, but were turned away when the Allies began their campaign for Tokyo. Then the Soviets created secret Kriov facilities in Havana in hopes to bring the United States down, but the Allies (with the help of Soviet scentist Doctor Gregor Zelinsky) defeated the Soviets and eventually brought down the Union at lenningrad as Premier Anatoly Cherdenko and General Nicolai Krukov were sentenced to cryo-imprisonment. Even trying to travel back in time to erase the Allies' most important icon, the Soviets could not defeat the Alies.
Uprising
The Soviet Union is now being occupied by the Allies, but a few forces still loyal to the Union has formed a secret society called the "Soviet Underground" lead by the intel officer Lieutenant Dasha Fedorovich, who is now looking to strike back at the Allies, including the sinister EU Leader Rupert Thornley, as he will intend to erase the Soviey union from time completely. The Soviet Underground also tried to capture some land space in Japan but were soon defeated by Crown Prince Tatsu.
